Joanna Jedrzejczyk was born in Olsztyn, Poland on August 18th, in 1987. Jedrzejczyk has a background in Muay Thai and competed professionally for 10 years winning six world championships. She also competed in kickboxing going 27-2 before transitioning to MMA in 2012. With a record of 6-0 she made her UFC debut in 2014, and the following year, at UFC 185, Jedrzejczyk became the second UFC strawweight women’s champion when she defeated Carla Esparza via 2nd round knockout. Jedrzejczyk’s first title defense was a successful one as she scored a 3rd round knockout victory at UFC Fight Night 69 to retain the title.
