Juergen Brahmer was born in Stralsund, Germany on October 5th in 1978. As an amateur Brahmer was 95-5 before turning pro in 1999. With a record of 23-0 with 20 knockouts Brahmer fought Omar Gonzalez for the vacant IBC International super middleweight title and won a unanimous decision to capture his first title as a pro.
In 2008 Brahmer had his first world title fight when he challenged Hugo Garay for the WBA light heavyweight world title and even though Brahmer was fighting in front of a hometown crowd he lost a unanimous decision. Thirteen months later Brahmer got a second shot to win his first world title and made good on the opportunity winning the WBO light heavyweight world title. In 2013 Brahmer won the WBA light heavyweight world title and made his 5th consecutive title defense in September of 2015.
