Bio
Julia Budd is a mixed martial artist with a Muay Thai background. Budd made history by becoming the first-ever Bellator women’s featherweight champion.
After losing a kickboxing bout to Germaine de Randamie, the future inaugural UFC women’s featherweight champion, Budd jumped to MMA, making her pro debut at a Strikeforce event in October 2010. Her next three MMA bouts were against future women’s MMA stars Amanda Nunes, de Randamie, and Ronda Rousey.
Budd next competed in four bouts with Invicta FC — all victories — before making the jump to Bellator MMA. First competing at Bellator 133 in February 2015, Budd has gone unbeaten in the promotion. She won the promotion’s inaugural women’s featherweight title bout against Marloes Coenen at Bellator 174 in March 2017.
