Ezekiel Brinsly Reid Brook, better known to boxing fans as Kell “The Special One” Brook, was born in Sheffield, England on May 3rd in 1986. He made his professional boxing debut in 2004 fighting 5 times in a span of 3 months going 5-0 with 3 knockouts. In 2008 Kell upped his record to 17-0 and won the vacant British welterweight title. Kell made multiple defenses of the British welterweight title and won intercontinental and international titles before earning his first world title shot.
In 2014, with a record of 32-0 Kell defeated Shawn Porter via majority decision to win the IBF welterweight world title. Kell made two successful title defenses in 2015 stopping both opponents, and will be in his hometown for his third title defense when he takes on Diego Gabriel Chaves at a date yet to be determined.
