Born in Hawaii, Max “Blessed” Holloway is one of the most successful mixed martial artists competing today. Joining the UFC early on in his career, Holloway is now a UFC record holder, and arguably one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Holloway made his professional MMA debut in September 2010, scoring victories over his first four opponents, including Strikeforce and WEC veteran Harris Sarmiento. He debuted for the UFC at UFC 143 in February 2012, moving down from lightweight to featherweight. Despite a loss in his first UFC bout, Holloway won three of his next five before going on his current 11-fight win streak. After defeating Anthony Pettis for the UFC interim featherweight title at UFC 206 in December 2016, Holloway defeated Jose Aldo at UFC 212 in Brazil to become undisputed UFC champion.
Holloway currently holds the UFC record for most active wins in the UFC featherweight division, and he is tied for most KO/TKO wins in the UFC division’s history.
