Nicholas Walters was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica on January 4th in 1986. His father Job boxed professionally from 1986 to 1991, and Nicholas followed in his father’s footsteps when he began boxing at ten years old and turned pro in 2008. In 2012 Walters had compiled a record of 21-0 with 17 knockouts and had his first world title bout in December of that year.
Walters won the vacant WBA featherweight world title with a 7th round TKO over Daulis Prescott. After 3 straight title defenses, with all 3 wins coming via knockout, Walters was defeated for the first time and lost his title to Miguel Marriaga via 12 round unanimous decision.
