Bio
Nieky “The Natural” Holzken is considered one of the best in kickboxing today. With a background of kickboxing, Muay Thai, and boxing, he is a two-time European Muay Thai champion in addition to his GLORY title run.
Beginning his kickboxing career in 2001, Holzken competed all over Europe in the early stages of his career, mostly in his home country of The Netherlands. Holzken won the K-1 World MAX North European Qualification Tournament in 2007, but he ultimately fell short in a bout at K-1 World MAX 2007 Final Elimination. He competed in promotions such as United Glory and It’s Showtime, in addition to K-1, for several years before joining GLORY.
Already on a five-fight win streak, Holzken made his GLORY debut at the promotion’s first-ever event, defeating Alex Tobiasson Harris. At GLORY 13: Tokyo, Holzken won a welterweight tournament to earn a shot at the GLORY Welterweight Championship, but he could not take the fight due to injury. Instead, Holzken won the welterweight contender tournament held at GLORY 19: Virginia and won the then-vacant title at GLORY 23: Las Vegas.
Holzken would make three successful title defenses before dropping the title to Cedric Doumbe.
