Raphael Assuncao’s pro MMA career began in January 2004, winning 13 of his first 14 bouts before signing on with WEC. Assuncao’s WEC debut came at WEC 40, defeating Jameel Massouh. After five bouts in the WEC, the promotion folded and Assuncao signed with the UFC, debuting at UFC 128 in March 2011.
After losing his UFC debut, Assuncao won seven bouts in a row before falling to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 200. Assuncao is still seeking his first title shot.
