Bio
Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer who is considered one of the best lightweights in kickboxing today.
Born Anulak Jansuk, Sitsongpeenong had his first kickboxing bout in 2002, when he was just 11 years old. He competed exclusively in Thailand until he competed in the 4-man “Nuit des Titans” tournament in France in January 2010, a tournament that he won. He won the “Nuit des Champions” Muay Thai belt in November 2010, holding it until July 2011. After that July 2011 loss, Sitsongpeenong went on a 17-fight win streak, winning multiple times along the way. Since that streak was snapped, Sitsongpeenong has won 33 of his last 36 bouts.
Sitsongpeenong won the lightweight contender tournament at GLORY 22: Lille to earn a shot at the GLORY Lightweight Championship. However, he fell short in his title bout with Robin van Roosmalen at GLORY 25: Milan. He won another lightweight contender tournament at GLORY 28: Paris to earn another shot at Roosmalen. This time, at GLORY 31: Amsterdam, he defeated Roosmalen to win the title.
He successfully defended the title against Marat Grigorian at GLORY 36: Oberhausen and against Dylan Salvador at GLORY 39: Brussels.
