Awad Loses By Decision At Bellator 219
Saad Awad’s return to the Bellator cage would be an unsuccessful one as he would take a unanimous decision loss to Brandon Girtz.
After having a four-fight winning streak halted by Benson Henderson, Awad drew first blood by cutting Girtz on the forehead at the end of the first round.
Girtz turned it around and kept pace with Awad for the final two rounds, taking a narrow unanimous decision from the judges.
In the co-main event, Daniel Straus recovered from a career and life threatening accident to submit Shane Kruchten in the first round.
