Awaiting Title Shot, Usyk Wants Chisora

Title or no title, Oleksandr Usyk is interested in making Dereck Chisora the next man he faces on the road to heavyweight glory.

The former undisputed cruiserweight champion’s manager Egis Klimas confirmed as much as the WBO’s mandatory challenger awaits the winner of  Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz’s battle for the unified world heavyweight title on December 7th in Saudi Arabia.

“We don’t know what happens on December 7. But if it is possible to fight in between and not to wait for another six months, I think Chisora will be a good fight for Usyk,” Klimas told Sky Sports.

Usyk made his long-awaited heavyweight debut in October, stopping journeyman replacement opponent Chazz Witherspoon in the seventh round, while fellow mandatory world title challenger Kubrat Pulev took a decision over Rydell Booker last weekend in Fresno, California.
