Belfort Asks UFC Announcer To Corner His Return

Vitor Belfort retired in 2018, mainly because the former champion was interested in the idea of a “legends league” for older fighters, Dana White would pass.

Then, less than a year after losing a retirement fight to Lyoto Machida, Belfort would sign with ONE Championship on the heels of their deal with Turner Sports.

Belfort is preparing for his first fight for the Singapore base promotion, and has asked longtime UFC Commentator/Podcaster/Comedian/ and ONE Championship fan, Joe Rogan, to act as his cornerman.

“Joe Rogan, I would like to formally invite you to be my cornerman in my first ONE Championship fight,” Belfort wrote on Instagram. “I admire your dedication to the sport, and I would love to have that knowledge, and that voice, in my corner.”

Rogan, who has slowed down his announcing work with the UFC, limiting them to just pay-per-views, has yet to respond to Belfort’s offer to corner him against a fighter yet to be named, but one could only imagine what Rogan would have to say to the PRIDE and UFC legend in-between rounds.
