Belfort Suffered Knee Injury In Camp For UFC 224

Nothing was going to stop Vitor Belfort from walking into the Octagon at UFC 224, not even a knee injury.

In a story reported by Combate and confirmed by MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz Belfort suffered an injury to his left knee  during the first week of camp for his UFC 224 fight with Lyoto Machida.

Belfort would end up suffering a highlight reel knockout in the second round against Machida, and after Belfort officially announced his retirement and laid his gloves down in the middle of the Octagon.

Per the report from MMA Fighting, Belfort was advised by multiple doctors to cancel the fight, but he made the call to fight and will now weigh options on potential surgery.
