Bellator 199 Live Results

FIGHT SPORTS brings you the live results of Bellator 199 from the SAP Center, featuring the final first round fight of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Opening Fight: Adam Piccolotti Defeats Carrington Banks via Rear Naked Choke in round three.

Piccolotti dictated the pace of the fight, keeping it on the ground since the early goings of round one. Banks would be fighting out of submission attempts the entire fight, until getting caught in a rear naked choke with less than 2o seconds left in the final round.

Cheick Kongo Defeats Javy Ayala by knockout in round one.

Kongo walked into the Bellator cage looking for his sixth win in a row, and didn’t have to wait long. Midway through the first round, Kongo would block a looping punch from Ayala and landed a booming right to Ayala’s ear, dropping the fighter and forcing the official to stop the fight.

Aaron Pico Defeats Lee Morrison via knockout in round one.

Aaron Pico would also have an early night inside the Bellator cage, as it only took 1:10 to defeat Lee Morrison. Both men came out of the gate swinging, and Morrison opened himself up to a knockdown when he went for a leg kick and would be caught by punch to the face by Pico.

Morrison would find a way up and attempt to keep the war going, but Pico would land a body shot that would finish off Morrison as the referee would step in and stop the fight.

Jon Fitch defeats Paul Daley via Unanimous Decision (29-27, 29-26, 29-26)

Daley looked like he was going to continue the trend of first round finishes, but Fitch would find a way to survive the barrage from the British fighter.

Fitch would find away to get Daley to the ground in the midway point of round two, nearly stopping the fight with a few key strikes. Fitch looked to lock in a rear naked choke and tried to gas Daley out. Fitch would clearly win the second round and keep Daley on the ground.

In round three, Daley would get taken to the ground again, and Fitch would keep him there nearly the entire five minutes of the final round.  In the last minute of the round, while the audience were booing due to a lack of any standup action, Daley would smack talk while being held down by Fitch. Daley would go on a tirade demanding the fans boo Fitch, while causing the broadcast to mute the broadcast audio due to the language from the English fighter.

Ryan Bader defeats “King Mo” Lawal by first round knockout:

It only took fifteen seconds to find out who’d be facing Matt Mitrione in the second round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix, as Bader dropped King Mo with a right hand and would immediately go on the attack and finish off Lawal.

Bader would not only move on to the second round, but also would tie for the seventh fastest knockout in Bellator history.
