Bellator 208 Live Results

The Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix is nearing its conclusion with the second semifinal bout set to headline Bellator 208.

The headlining fight will feature Chael Sonnen facing off against legendary MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko.

Sonnen has been on a win streak for the first time in years after victories over the likes of Wanderlei Silva and against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the quarterfinals of the Grand Prix. Sonnen, who made his heavyweight debut in the win against Jackson, brought his signature style of trash talking to build up the fight against one of the biggest names in the sport in Emelianenko.

Emelianenko, on the other hand, has returned to the United States for the first time since his days competing for Strikeforce thanks to signing with Bellator MMA. Although his Bellator debut was spoiled by Matt Mitrione last year, Emelianenko bounced back by scoring a TKO victory over Frank Mir in the quarterfinals, setting up the matchup against Sonnen.

The winner of the main event will face off against Ryan Bader in the tournament finals, which will take place on a date and venue to be determined later. Bader advanced to the finals at Bellator 207 when he outwrestled Matt Mitrione in dominant fashion, winning a unanimous decision consisting of scores of 30-25, 30-24 and 30-25.

The card also features several big names with the likes of Cheick Kongo and Benson Henderson competing in separate bouts on the undercard.
