Bellator 237: Fedor KOs Rampage, Retires?

Fedor Emelianenko and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson have been legendary figures in Japan thanks to their time as superstars of the Pride Fighting Championships. And the two were brought back for one more appearance each at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan at Bellator 237 โ€” taking on each other.

Emelianenko defeated Jackson before seemingly eyeing retirement in the place he had competed and entertained fans in for years.

“The Last Emperor” took control from the start with combinations, and the hand speed seemed to be too much for Jackson to land much of anything. A big right hand less than three minutes in dropped Jackson to completely end things and give Emelianenko one more win in front of a Japanese crowd.

The co-main event of the evening also featured a first-round knockout, as former three-time Bellator lightweight champ Michael Chandler made quick work of Sidney Outlaw.

The rest of the night saw Michael “Venom” Page dominate Shinsho Anzai in a second-round finish, and stars of Bellator face off with fighters from RIZIN. Lorenz Larkin outclassed Keita Nakamura in a unanimous decision win and Goiti Yamauchi scored yet another submission with a choke of Daron Cruickshank.

RIZIN’s sole victory came when Kana Watanabe finished Ilara Joanne in the closing seconds of their bout.
