Bellator 244 Reportedly Adds A Catchweight Fight
A hometown favorite will be making his return to the octagon in Connecticut, this time without his family and friends.
Mike Kimbel (3-2) will reportedly face off against Chaka Worthy (3-2) in a catchweight bout at Bellator 244. MMA Junkie was the first to report the news.
The 23-year-old Kimbel is 1-2 in his last three fights. His last bout was a TKO-loss at the hands of Chris Disonell at Bellator 225 in August. Four of his five Bellator bouts have been inside the Mohegan Sun Arena, home of Bellator 244.
Brother to Khama Worthy, Chaka will be making his Bellator debut. Turning professional in 2018, “Omega” last fought in October, beating Walter Flores via knockout. It was the first KO-win of his career.
Kimbel and Worthy join a prelim card that features Andrew Kapel v. John Salter, Sidney Outlaw v. Adam Piccolotti, and Chris Gonzalez v. Vladimir Tokov. Another fight that was recently added to the card was Weber Almeida v. Salim Mukhidinov.
Bellator 244 will be taking place on August 21. The main event will be Ryan Bader defending his Bellator Light Heavyweight Title against Vadim Nemkov.
