Bellator 283: Jason Jackson Secures Lopsided Win Vs. Douglas Lima

Jason Jackson has done it again.

This time it was against Douglas Lima in the main event of Bellator 283 on Friday. All the judges scored that fight 50-45 for Jackson.

He now gets closer to the Bellator welterweight title.

The tactic was simple for Jackson.

It was just a matter of one or two takedowns for him – and Lima was unable to stop him. There was only one good moment for Lima when he landed an upkick, but Jackson survived and dominated in all the rounds.

With the victory, Jackson could have gotten himself a shot at the championship. The welterweight category is currently backed up with undisputed champion Yaroslav Amosov returning from military service in Ukraine and interim champion Logan Storley awaiting a unification match.

Jackson hasn’t lost since falling to Ed Ruth in his first promotion fight.

Since then, Paul Daley, Kiichi Kunimoto, Jordan Mein, Benson Henderson, Neiman Gracie and Lima have all been beaten by Jackson.

Former Rizin champion Tofiq Musayev made his debut in Bellator against the No. 1 ranked lightweight of Bellator and served a knockout loss to Sidney Outlaw.

Outlaw is the fighter who suffered only one loss in his recent 13 fights, and that loss was against Michael Chandler, a former Bellator champion and former UFC title challenger.

Usman Nurmagomedov remained undefeated by earning another first-round finish.

He fought Chris Gonzalez, who had seven victories and only one loss in his pro-MMA career.

It was supposed to be a good test for the Dagestani fighter, and he passed it in under two minutes of the first round. He finished the fight via standing guillotine, also known as “Front Choke.”
