Bellator 285: Benson Henderson Wins By Decision, Yoel Romero Crushes Melvin Manhoef

Peter Queally’s headliner in his home country didn’t go as planned.

Benson Henderson pulled an upset against Queally, defeating him by unanimous decision in the main event of Bellator 285 on Friday.

Henderson, a former UFC lightweight champion, had a steady takedown strategy.

“Man, Peter is tough as heck,” Henderson said after the fight.

“I know I landed a couple of super clean good elbows, and he just looked at me and came forward. I was like, ‘Holy [c—]!’ That dang ‘Zombie’ song — he’s a zombie.”

The co-main event was between former UFC fighter and legend Yoel Romero against MMA’s Mike Tyson, Melvin Manhoef, in the light heavyweight division.

Romero won the first round using his grappling and the second round with several good punches.

In the final round, Romero went for a takedown and finished the fight on the ground. With his elbows, he knocked his rival out cold.
