Bellator 301: Jackson Stuns Amosov To Clinch The Welterweight Title
Jason Jackson beat the undefeated Yaroslav Amosov to secure the Bellator welterweight title at Bellator 301.
From the outset, Jackson was on the front foot as he pushed Amosov backwards while the latter attempted to secure takedowns. And after having neutralized those attempts, Jackson managed to take control. The new champion sent Amosov to the canvas with a straight right hand in the third round, which was followed up with an uppercut. The latter tried desperately to secure a takedown in order to stop the damage. However, it was not enough as Jackson continued to attack. Thereafter, the referee stopped the fight, as Jackson was declared the new champion. The victory extended Jackson’s record to 17-4, while Asov suffered his only defeat, which took his record to 27-1.
