After some feeling out for the first 45 seconds, including a couple of leg kicks from Primus, Wilder dropped the former champ with a right hand and jumped in, trying to get into top game. Primus, however, caught Wilde in his guard and managed to sink in a gogoplata, forcing the tap.

The rest of the Bellator Birmingham main card also featured first-round finishes, with three big knockouts, including a potential Knockout of the Year candidate from Bellator Kickboxing Welterweight Champion Raymond Daniels, who made a successful return to MMA after losing a bout in Strikeforce almost a decade ago.
