According to reports, Cris Lencioni from Bellator is currently hospitalized and in critical condition after a cardiac arrest.
The featherweight fighter suffered a cardiac arrest in June after doing a training session and was immediately taken into emergency care.
Lencioni’s prowess in the grappling realm has earned him an impressive professional record of 11 wins and 3 losses, securing wins over Cody Law and AJ Agazarm.
So during this tough time, His wife (Marca) has been providing regular updates on his condition to the MMA community as Lencioni fights through this difficult time.
“This is Cris’ wife, Marca. On Thursday 6/8 there was an incident while Cris was training, and he experienced a cardiac arrest. The athletes at the gym were great and immediately called 911 and did their best to address his needs until paramedics arrived.
“We are currently in another state. He has been under the care of excellent doctors with I and much of his family by his side. We are all hopeful for the progress we know he will continue to make.
“Prayers are always welcome – if your kiddos want to make a card or anything like that, bring it to the gym and we will make sure Cris gets it.
“We are currently in uncharted territory and taking everything day by day. Thank you for the continued support during this time.
“Some of Cris’ family has started a Go fund me page. I’ll add the link in his Bio but keeping us in your thoughts and prayers is very much appreciated,” Marca
With that being said, Lencioni’s mother has taken the initiative to establish a GoFundMe page. The fundraiser has reached over $20,000 with the final target being $250,000.
The sooner Lencioni returns, the better it is for the MMA community who will no doubt be looking forward to his fight with James Gallagher at Bellator 298 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on August 11th, 2023.
As such, MMA fans came out to support the fighter in the hope he would make a full recovery.
