Bellator Kickboxing Returns In December

Bellator makes its return to Italy, as the Viacom owned brand performs in the city of Genoa for the first time on December 1st at RDS Stadium.

Italian star Alessio Sakara will headline Bellator 211 taking on Kent Pauppinen in the main event, with Bellator Kickboxing featherweight champion Gabriel Varga defending against Genoa native Shan Cangelosi on the  Bellator Kickboxing card airing prior to Bellator 211.

The event will be regulated by the Federazione Italiana Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Savate, Shoot Boxe e Sambo, which is officially recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee and is also affiliated with WAKO, the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations.

“Working with a reputable federation or commission has always been a high priority for us wherever we hold events,” said Bellator President Scott Coker. “Having FIKBMS oversight in Italy ensures that we are continually being held to high standards in terms of fair competition, athlete safety and other regulatory matters. They provide both legitimacy and transparency, which are paramount to the success of our international shows and organization as a whole.”

This will be Sakara’s fifth time inside the Bellator cage with wins over Joey Beltran, Brian Rogers, and a recent win over Jamie Sloane.

While Gabriel Varga will look to remain unbeaten while under the Bellator banner, winning the title in a quick win over Kevin Ross and keeping it with a stoppage win over Roberto Gheorghita at Bellator Kickboxing 8.
