Bellator To Host 200th Event In London

In a press release sent on Monday, Bellator has announced that they have selected London’s SSE Arena as the site of their 200th event.

Bellator 200, which is set to air on May 25th, also has had two fights announced, one being a middleweight title showdown between defending champion Rafael Carvalho, taking on Gegard Mousasi.

The second fight will featured Michael Page’s return to London as he faces off against David Rickels.

“Bellator continues to place a huge emphasis on its expansion into markets around the globe and creating a strong presence in the U.K. is a very important part of that,” Bellator President Scott Coker said. “Our fans are going to be excited about the card we put together for this monumental event, as Bellator 200 will be one of our greatest to date.”

Carvalho, who enters his fourth year fighting on the Bellator Roster, currently co-holds the record for most middleweight title defenses with three, looks to stop Mousasi, a former STRIKEFORCE light heavyweight champion, who is on a six fight winning streak.

Michael Page will make his ninth appearance inside the Bellator cage on May 25th, where he will face off against Rickels who will make his unprecedented 20th appearance for Bellator when the two face off in London. Page, known for his “Pokéball knockout” of “Cyborg” Santos in 2016, will look to stay undefeated against Rickels who is riding a two fight winning streak.

Middleweight World Title Bout: Rafael Carvalho (15-1) vs. Gegard Mousasi (43-6-2)
