Bellator Vs. RIZIN: AJ McKee Extends Win Streak, Tops Roberto de Souza

AJ McKee has bested one of RIZIN’s best.

McKee put his grappling and ground and pound on the display against RIZIN lightweight champion Roberto de Souza in the main event of the first-ever Bellator vs. RIZIN event, which took place in Japan.

Dream come true,” McKee said about fighting there. “Hopefully I get to come back and put on another show for you.”

McKee started off strong whole season Souza searched for success with elbows and punches.

The former Bellator champion caught de Souza with blows while it was evident that de Souza was trying to catch up on the score.

But it didn’t work as all judges scored the bout for McKee, who is now 2-0 as a lightweight.

In the co-main event, Bellator featherweight champ Patricio Freire Pitbull did just enough to edge RIZIN champion Kleber Koike.

Pitbull constantly backed Koike with his striking, but never really released impactful combinations.

Koike would try to go for a takedown, but always failed to keep Pitbull underneath him.

Still, Pitbull seemed unable to dominate as he was picky with his shots. But the shots were enough for the judges to give him an unanimous decision win.
