Bellew, Flores Weigh In for Title Bout
The WBC cruiserweight championship will be on the line on Oct. 15, as champion Tony Bellew will defend the title against BJ Flores.
Bellew (27-2-1, 17 KO) comes into this contest riding a seven-fight winning streak, and he will be making his first defense of the WBC cruiserweight title. He won the championship in his last fight, scoring a third-round knockout over Ilunga Makabu back on May 29.
Meanwhile, Flores (32-2-1, 20 KO) comes into this fight off of a unanimous decision win over Roberto Santos back on May 21. Flores has had two previous chances at world cruiserweight gold but was unsuccessful both times. He challenged Danny Green for the IBO title back in Nov. 2010 and fought Beibut Shumenov in July 2015 for the interim WBA cruiserweight title, losing both 12-round bouts by unanimous decision.
The bout will take place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
