Bellew vs. Usyk Round-by-Round Results
Every major cruiserweight championship will be on the line when undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk defends against Tony Bellew from Manchester Arena in Bellew’s home country of England.
Since his debut in late 2013, Usyk — who owns a perfect 15-0 record (with 11 KOs) — has quickly risen up through the ranks of boxing’s cruiserweight division. Usyk claimed the WBO Cruiserweight Championship in September 2016 with a win over Krzysztof Głowacki, and he made two defenses of the belt before competing in the World Boxing Super Series. Usyk won the WBC Title with a win over Mairis Briedis in the semifinals last January before Murat Gassiev back in July to win the tournament, become undisputed champion and raise the Muhammad Ali Trophy.
According to Bellew, tonight’s title fight will likely be the final fight of his career. Bellew is a former WBC cruiserweight champion himself, defeating Ilunga Makabu for the gold back in May 2016 and making one successful defense later that year against BJ Flores. But when a rivalry with David Haye developed, Bellew moved up to heavyweight for a non-title contest with the former title challenger in March 2017. Bellew won the bout via 11th-round TKO before finishing Haye again in a rematch back in May.
