Ben Askren’s UFC Debut Official For UFC 233

After last month’s trade and rumors of his debut, Ben Askren will step in to the Octagon for the first time this January, at UFC 233.

Askren will fight against Robbie Lawler in a welterweight showdown from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on January 26th.

Askren, a former Bellator and ONE welterweight champion, finally debuts for the UFC after a “trade” sending him to the Endeavor owned promotion and ONE Championship getting former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

This will be Lawler’s first fight since a loss to Rafael dos Anjos in December 2017, after a UFC 214 win against Donald Cerrone.

The main event for the UFC 233 card will be T.J. Dillashaw looking to take the flyweight title from Henry Cejudo in his initial defense of the championship.
