Ben Rothwell Breaks Silence By Signing With Bare Knuckle FC

After months of speculations, Ben Rothwell (39-14-0) has finally broken the silence regarding his future professional career.

The former UFC heavyweight contender has reportedly agreed to a deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).

Recently, Rothwell was released from the UFC after completing a long tenure with the promotion. The American was set to face Alexander Gustafsson on May 21 before deciding to leave UFC at the last minute.

This decision means that the 40-year-old will be a free agent for the first time in a while. Rothwell announced this decision after showing up on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“BKFC came up with a concrete offer and it was good for me to deny. I feel that my future is secure in this place because I was already familiar with BKFC before I decided to come to the MMA,” Rothwell said.

“It is something that is part of my history. It runs in the history of my family because my grandfather was doing it before me, probably not legally. Anyway, it runs in the blood as far as I am concerned,” Rothwell added.

The last time the American was seen in the ring was in a fight against Marcos Rogerio de Lima last November.
