David Benavidez and David Morrell Jr. had their open media workouts before they do battle on February 1.
The clash takes place at 175 pounds, as the winner will be in a position to fight either Artur Beterbiev or Dmitry Bivol. That would be for the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship once they have boxed on February 22. The build-up has been marred by controversy. In their kick-off presser, Benavidez pushed Morrell, who reacted by throwing his belt.
Benavidez has been told he will be fined 25 percent of his purse if he does something similar again. The Mexican Monster defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk in his previous fight, marking his debut at 175. Morrell did the same by beating Radivoje Kalajdzic. Both boxers are undefeated, as they were ready to come out with a win.
