David Benavidez has revealed that talks for a fight with Demetrius Andrade are ongoing, with a fight being lined up for November.
The ‘Mexican Monster’ is the current WBC interim champion at super-middleweight, but a fight with the undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez has not been made.
The latter is facing Jermell Charlo on September 30th, 2023, as Benavidez is now looking elsewhere.
Andrade would prove to be a good opponent, as he is a former two-weight world champion.
And given that ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade is also undefeated, a win would only strengthen Benavidez’s reputation for a potential fight with Canelo.
“We were all ready to finalize the fight with Mungia. Then at the last minute him and his team backed up, so unfortunately we were not able to get that fight.
“But now its looking, not 100 percent that [it] will happen but maybe 90 percent.. So we are crossing our fingers and hoping that everything comes out good with that. Hopefully, we fight him in November some time,” Benavidez
