Benavidez To Be Ringside For Plant-Feigenbutz

As Caleb Plant sets to defend his IBF Super Middleweight Championship against the Vincent Feigenbutz in his backyard of Nashville, Tennessee on February 15, a familiar face will be keeping an eye on him. FOX Sports announced that WBC Super Middleweight Champion David Benavidez will be ringside during the event.

Benavidez (22-0) will serve as an analyst with host Kate Abdo for the FOX PBC WEIGH-IN program, set to begin on FS2 on Friday, February 14 at 1:30 p.m. ET. He will then be attendance for the fight to scout his next challenger, whoever it may be. The 23-year-old has served as an analyst on the FOX Sports PBC desk before, something that has helped him grow as a fighter.

“I’m thrilled to work with FOX Sports for this show because I want to keep my eye on this fight,” Benavidez stated. “The winner will have a belt I’m coming for in the future.”

Plant (19-0) has been hoping to face Beavidez for quite some time. He is set to defend his title for the second time against a mandatory challenger in Feigenbutz (31-2), who has 28 wins via knockout. The two will headline a PBC on FOX bout that’s main card begins at 8 p.m. ET. The fight will take place inside the  Bridgestone Arena.

Following the main event, INSIDE PBC BOXING will air at 11 p.m. ET, with Abdo, Shawn Porter and Abner Mares reviewing the fight and previewing the rematch between Deontay Wilder v. Tyson Fury.
