Beneil Dariush dominates Tony Ferguson at UFC 262

UFC 262 is in the books, and one UFC lightweight is moving up the ladder at Tony Ferguson’s expense. Beneil Dariush dominated Ferguson, who lost his third straight fight. After defeating Ferguson, Dariush said, “This was my 20th fight in the UFC, and I am finally in the conversation,” Dariush said. “I’d like to see myself in a title eliminator, whatever that is.”

Ferguson had come into 2020 with a 12 fight winning streak and an undisputed lightweight title shot. That fight was canceled due to the pandemic, and Ferguson hasn’t looked the same since. Ferguson was never really in a position to win on Saturday. Ferguson surrendered takedowns relatively early in each of the three rounds and had no success working back to his feet.
