Benn Tells Garcia To Sign The Contract

Conor Benn (25-1, 14 KOs) says he is still waiting on Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) to put pen to paper on their proposed WBC welterweight title fight, insisting the bout can still be made before the end of the year.

“I haven’t spoken to him. He’s gone missing. So all I need him to do is sign the contract so we can get the fight locked in and give everyone one hell of a fight — a potential fight of the year,” Benn

Benn beat Regis Prograis at 150 pounds in April. Before that, he settled his rivalry with Chris Eubank Jr. by taking a unanimous decision in their rematch in November 2025. The wins have positioned him as the WBC’s mandatory challenger at welterweight, with a victory over Garcia representing his first shot at a world title.

Garcia had previously indicated September in Las Vegas as the target. However, Oscar De La Hoya stated his company played no part in any negotiations and has filed a cease-and-desist letter to Zuffa Boxing over talks conducted without Golden Boy’s involvement.
