Benson Henderson Signs New Bellator Deal
After his Bellator 208 win over Saad Awad at Bellator 208, Benson Henderson’s Bellator contract would expire, but the former UFC champion has re-signed with the Viacom owned brand.
In a report from MMA Junkie, Henderson signed a new “exclusive, long-term” deal with Bellator, staying with the company he signed with in 2016.
Henderson would have a rough go of it inside the Bellator cage, losing his first fight against then welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov, then dropping back down to lightweight, scoring a win over Patricio Freire before a split-decision loss against lightweight champion Michael Chandler.
Following the Chandler loss, Henderson would undergo ACL surgery, giving the former UFC lightweight champion new life and a 2-0 record since the procedure.
