Billy Joe Saunders Wants Rematch With Chris Eubank Jr. And $5 Million

Billy Joe Saunders is asking for more than vengeance in a rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.

Saunders (30-1, 14 KOs) responded to Eubank’s (30-2, 22 KOs) callout, saying he’ll “spank” him for $5 million.

Saunders won over Eubank via narrow split decision back in 2014. Judges leaned in favor of Saunders 115-114, 115-113 and for Eubank, 116-113. The battle had the EBU European, Commonwealth (British Empire) and BBBofC British middleweight title on the line.

Critics say Saunders shouldn’t have won the matchup.

Saunders, 32, is coming off a loss via corner stoppage to Canelo Alvarez. In that fight, he got $8 million despite pulling out of the fight.

Eubank called out Saunders for quitting – not for a fractured right orbital bone, which Saunders said was the reason he pulled out.

“If that were the truth, there would’ve been doctors’ reports, pictures. The guy was driving around in his car a week later with sunglasses on. We’re not sheep. No, he quit,” Eubank said.
