Bisping Calls Out Covington Following UFC 225

Following his one sided win over Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225, Colby Covington had another fight, this time with the Fox Sports broadcast team.

“All my haters in one studio,” Covington said about the UFC on Fox Sports 1 post fight team.

“I appreciate it guys, but what kind of excuses are you gonna make for RDA now? What are you gonna say – he’s a lightweight, he’s overweight, this and that. We know you’re gonna make excuses. No one’s ever gonna legitimize me. And Michael Bisping, I thought you said your coach Jason Parillo was good.”

That’s former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping decided to come at the interim welterweight champion.

“We’re not making excuses, Colby. You fought a good fight,” Bisping fired back. “Why are you so defensive? Why you gotta be a p***k?

“We just said – I don’t know if you care to listen. I know you’ve just had a fight and you’ve been hit in the head a few times but obviously you’re not thinking too straight. We just said you fought a very, very good fight. If you care to listen and open your ears, and stop talking so much crap for one minute, you might hear that we actually gave you some compliments.”

Covington challenged Bisping to come out of retirement and fight him.

“Stop talking crap? Isn’t that your kink?” Covington responded. “That’s what you do the best. All you do is talk. Michael Bisping, why don’t you come out, boy? Come out of retirement, Bisping. I’ll retire you for good.”

Bisping eventually told the new champion to lose the chip on his shoulder.

“Congratulations! You did very well,” Bisping said, per Darragh Murphy of Sports Joe.

”But let me give you a bit of advice. Tone it down a little notch, enjoy the moment and lose that chip on your shoulder just a little bit and that’s coming from an old pro who’s been there, done it and worn the t-shirt.”
