Bisping Comments On Rumored Gustaffson-Rockhold Fight

According to former UFC middleweight champion and current UFC analyst, Michael Bisping, the UFC is looking to setup an interim light heavyweight title fight between Alexander Gustafsson and Luke Rockhold.

Bisping, who works on UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1, responded to a fan about a potential retirement fight with Rockhold where he let it slip about a potential title fight.

Bisping referring to Rockhold as the “last person I knocked out,” which occurred at UFC 199 in 2016. He also claimed that if Rockhold and Gustafsson faced off for an interim title, Gustafsson would win handily.

The idea of an interim light heavyweight title between the two men is in the cards because current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is set to fight Stipe Miocic’s heavyweight title at UFC 226 on July 7th.

Gustafsson has been a major critic of Cormier’s attempt to win the heavyweight title, and is looking at Rockhold as a “warm up” fight.
