Bivol Stops Broadhurst in One Round

Dmitry Bivol (12-0, 10 KO) successfully retained the WBA Light Heavyweight Championship on Saturday, defeating Trent Broadhurst (20-2, 12 KO) in just one round at the Monte Carlo in Monaco.

Bivol was absolutely dominant in the fight. While he was given credit for a knockdown early on that was actually a bad call by the referee (Broadhurst was the victim of a shoulder shove), Bivol scored a guaranteed knockdown in the middle of the round.

But the end came right as the ending bell sounded on the opening round. Bivol landed a straight right, and the referee quickly waved off the bout.
