Bivol To Defend Title Against Pascal

Dmitry Bivol is set to return to the ring for a third time in 2018.

Bivol will defend his WBA light heavyweight title against former world champion Jean Pascal at the Etess Arena at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on November 24.

The 27-year-old Bivol will once again increase his level of opposition when it comes to experience. Bivol first defended the title back in March at Madison Square Garden with a late stoppage victory over Sullivan Barrera. Bivol would then go on to retain his title with a win against former title challenger Isaac Chilemba in Atlantic City back in August. Now Bivol faces a former lineal world titleholder for the first time in his career.

Pascal, a former WBC and lineal light heavyweight champion, had briefly retired in late 2017, but the retirement did not last long. He returned to action back in July when he was victorious against Steve Bosse. This is the first time Pascal challenges for a light heavyweight world title since unsuccessfully challenging for the unified titles in 2016 against Sergey Kovalev.

No other fights were announced for the event.
