BKFC 11 Postponed Due to the Coronavirus

Add bare-knuckle boxing to the latest sport that is shutting down its event due to the spread of the coronavirus. Bare-Knuckle FC announced that BKFC 11, set to take place inside the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, has been postponed.

“With the health and safety concerns of everyone involved, and the mandate carried out by officials, it is unfortunate that we were not able to put on BKFC 11, which would have been our highest attended event yet,” said BKFC founder and president David Feldman. “We have rescheduled the event for Saturday, June 20. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody affected at this difficult time.

The main event was set to be Nico Hernandez v. Chancey Wilson, with the co-main event being David Rickels v. Harris Stephenson. One of the other featured attractions included Helen Peralta v. Christine Ferea in a rematch for the Police Gazette Women’s Featherweight American Championship.

“Tickets purchased for the original event date will be honored for the newly rescheduled date,” according to BKFC. “Fans that are unable to attend the new date can obtain a refund at their original point of purchase”

It is unknown what will happen to the other upcoming events BKFC has on its schedule.

This is the latest combat sports event to be altered by the coronavirus. According to the latest from CNN, there have been over 132,567 cases of the virus with over 4,947 deaths confirmed.
