Bo Nickal Books Opponent For UFC Debut

It didn’t take long for the UFC to find an opponent for middleweight prospect Bo Nickal.

Nickal earned the UFC contract last Tuesday at Dana White’s Contender Series after he made short work of current CCFC champ, Donovan Beard. Nickal needed just 52 seconds before he wrapped his legs around Beard’s neck and got him submitting early in the fight.

Before that, the wrestling prodigy secured a 62-second submission victory over Zachary Borrego in June. But due to his short experience in MMA, UFC President Dana White avoided giving him the contract.

Nickal didn’t take the questions surrounding his experience too seriously as he returned to the octagon just seven weeks later.

And just a few days later, Nickal has got the first opponent for his UFC debut.

On Thursday, ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto reported that Nickal (3-0) will make the walk at the UFC 282 pay-per-view, which is set to go down in Las Vegas on December 10. Against the three-time NCAA Division I National Champion will be fellow DWCS alum, Jamie Pickett.

Pickett hasn’t had a very bright start in the promotion.

After losing his opening two fights in the company, Pickett evened the record with consecutive triumphs against Laureano Staropoli and Joseph Holmes.

But that winning streak didn’t last long as he is currently going through another win drought. “The Nightwolf” failed to secure victory against Kyle Daukaus and later suffered a TKO setback against Denis Tiuliulin at UFC 279.

He will be looking to avoid the third loss on the trot when he faces the highly talented Nickal at UFC 282.
