Bob Arum Dismisses Rumors Of Selling Top Rank To Endeavor

Dana White has no plans to be involved in boxing after reports Endeavor was in the final stages of buying Top Rank.

That is according to Bob Arum. Rick Glaser claimed Top Rank was in the ‘final stages’ of selling the company since Arum was planning on retiring.

White’s desire to enter the sport of boxing is well known. His role in creating the Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight was pivotal. White gave McGregor the go-ahead to fight outside of the UFC on Showtime. The fight began the era of crossover boxing, which most recently saw Francis Ngannou box Tyson Fury.

“I’m still kicking the tires and looking around and it’s very complicated, you know the sport’s such a mess, it’s literally a mess and to pull it off you have to actually get in there and clean it up you know. I’ve been working on this for years and I don’t know, we’ll see what happens,” White said

The UFC is currently dealing with a few challenges. The WWE and UFC merger to create TKO Group Holdings, Inc. became official this year. So, another acquisition is unlikely to follow. The UFC is also facing an anti-trust lawsuit. Several fighters alleged the company broke anti-trust laws to form a monopoly and control how much fighters earned. Arum and White have now responded to those rumors of a sale.
