Bob Arum Slams Deontay Wilder: He’s Been Spoiled By Donald Trump

Top Rank Boxing’s Bob Arum continues to compare Deontay Wilder to former POTUS Donald Trump.

Wilder was relatively quiet after his loss to Tyson Fury in their rematch back in February 2020. Things changed suddenly, however. “The Bronze Bomber” has accused Fury of loading his gloves and even accused his former trainer Mark Breland of spiking his water. Wilder is trying to prevent Anthony Joshua vs. Fury from happening as he claims he still has a rematch clause.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Arum said that Wilder is no different than any other “Trumpian.”

“Deontay Wilder has been spoiled by our former president Donald Trump who says you can say any lie, or any preposterous thing and maybe some people believe it. In Trump’s case, they believed it and stormed the capital. Deontay Wilder, again, irresponsible what he’s saying, totally.

“Whether it’s about Tyson Fury, Mark Breland – a tremendous guy – Deontay Wilder is not making any sense. But hey, if the former president who served for four years doesn’t make sense, I mean Deontay Wilder is just another Trumpian.”

Wilder hasn’t competed since his defeat to Fury. This was his first career loss as a professional. Wilder also lost the WBC Heavyweight Championship in that bout.

Time will tell if Wilder will be able to prevent Joshua vs. Fury from happening before he gets a trilogy fight with “The Gypsy King.” If not, there are other potential options such as Matchroom Boxing’s Dillian Whyte. Eddie Hearn has made it clear that he’d do everything he can to make the fight happen.
