Bob Arum Slams Jarrell Miller: ‘How Stupid Can You Be?’
Top Rank Boxing’s Bob Arum thinks Jarrell Miller has done himself a disservice.
Miller was expected to challenge Anthony Joshua for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Titles in 2019. Miller ended up testing positive for GW501516 and later, EPO and HGH. His title fight with Joshua blew up in smoke. Miller was allowed to return to action in 2020 but he squandered that opportunity as well. His planned fight with Jerry Forrest was yanked after Miller once again tested positive for GW501516.
Miller fights under Top Rank and as you can imagine, Arum is flabbergasted. Here’s what he told BoxingScene.com.
“Not pissed but I just couldn’t believe it. I mean how the f–k stupid can you be?”
Arum went on to say that he will speak to Miller virtually in the near future.
“He’s going to be talking to us. He wanted to fly to (Las) Vegas to meet with us but with the Covid I don’t want any people in the office. So we’re gonna do a Zoom call as soon as next week about what we want to do with him in the future, if anything; what he wants to do, discuss the whole thing.
“I’m not interested in hearing any excuses, if he thought it was a sex drug. I mean gimme a break. How stupid can you be? Even if he thought he was just using it for sex you don’t put anything in your body that has a drug in it without getting it approved.”
Miller was recently given a 24-month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The earliest Miller can return to action is January 2022.
Miller’s record stands at 23-0-1. He hasn’t competed since November 17, 2018. He scored a fourth-round knockout victory over Bogdan Dinu in his last outing.
