‘Boots’ Eyes Spence-Crawford Winner

Jaron Ennis is keen on facing the winner of Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford.

Spence and Crawford will fight it out for the undisputed welterweight title on July 29th, 2023. Spence’s WBA, WBC and IBF titles will be on the line against Crawford’s WBO belt.

Meanwhile, Ennis’ next fight is against Roiman Villa on July 8th, 2023. The winner would become the IBF mandatory.

As such, Ennis would face the winner of Spence vs. Crawford. And that is something that has kept ‘Boots’ motivated.

“I believe I’m the best option. I feel like everybody wants to see me versus Spence or me versus Bud. I don’t think they want to see nobody else fight them,” Boots

Nevertheless, the chances of such a fight are slim. Crawford and Spence have indicated their intention to move up from welterweight following the fight.

Not only that, but given that there is a rematch clause in place, the fighters will have a chance to run things back. That will only go on to tie up the fighters.

But in any event, if Spence or Crawford did move up, the belts would become vacant, making Ennis the full IBF champion if he were to beat Villa.

Either way, Ennis is in prime position to make a statement at welterweight. And the star is hoping to do so with a knockout win over Villa.

This is particularly since Ennis’ record of 27 KOs from 31 fights was halted against Karen Chukhadzhian, as ‘Boots’ won by unanimous decision instead.

“[A knockout) is the goal. I want to look good, be sharp, beat him up, get that stoppage,” Ennis
