Borg Gets New Opponent Ahead Of UFC Philly

With the UFC’s return to Philadelphia just two weeks away, UFC bantamweight, Ray Borg, has a new opponent for March 30th.

Borg was set to face off against Liu Pingyuan, who withdrew this week due to injury, but will now face the debuting Kyler Phillips for the UFC’s ESPN 2 broadcast from the Wells Fargo Arena

Not only will Borg be fighting for the first time since his October 2017 loss to then UFC flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson, it will be his first fight at bantamweight.

Borg has been away from action due to health issues concerning himself and his newborn son, as well as injuries suffered on UFC 223 media day when Conor McGregor threw a handtruck through a bus window.

Phillips, a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter 27, last won via a first round knockout of Emeka Ifekandu at LFA 59.
