Boxer Punches Trainer After Loss


While Kubrat Pulev and Hughie Fury were the main event of Saturday’s card in Sofia, Bulgaria, Georgian boxer Levan Shonia nearly stole the spotlight after his fight.

Shonia, who fought Spas Genov on the undercard, while waiting for the scores from the judges not only challenge Genov for one more round of boxing, but threw a punch at his trainer.

Shonia struck out with a right hand at his coach, who leaned back to avoid too much damage before responding with a punch back at his charge, and would be broken up by the referee following another punch from Shonia.

The Georgian boxer would go on to lose on the scorecards to Shonia, dropping him to 15-12 on his career.
