Regis Prograis’ potential fight with Devin Haney being on DAZN pay-per-view has not gone down well.
Reports indicated that an agreement had been reached for a fight on December 9th, 2023, on DAZN pay-per-view. Although that may be the case, Prograis has confirmed that Haney’s camp have not signed the agreement as of yet. But provided that this hurdle is overcome, the fight being on pay-per-view has been questioned. For a yearly subscription, fans are expected to pay $240 per year. And since DAZN was based on the idea of removing pay-per-view, the additional costs for one-off events has received backlash. Not only that but neither Haney nor Prograis have the star power to sell major pay-per-views despite their world title accomplishments.
“It’ll [the fight] probably get done, though. Also, one other thing. There was some difference of opinion among the Haney camp about whether this fight should go on DAZN pay-per-view or regular DAZN. So, that has been a point of discussion between the two sides. I’m not sure if it’s been 100% worked out. I would say this. If they’re going to put that [Haney vs. Prograis] on pay-per-view, it’s a very good fight, but should be paying an extra sixty bucks for it or 70 bucks for it? I mean, why do I pay $240 a year on DAZN? To get fights like that,” Rafael said
Much in the same way, this was the exact sentiment being expressed on social media with many fans lamenting the lack of value that DAZN was offering.

Haney vs Loma did about 150k PPV buys. This fight will be lucky to do 120k. Might do less considering it’s on DAZN. Decent fight that won’t generate much $$. Eddie Hearn will be happy to break even
