Boxing Legend Roberto Duran Hospitalized With A Heart Condition

Roberto Duran is reportedly in hospital with a heart condition.

According to reports, the four-division champion is receiving medical care after ‘an atrioventricular blockade.’ Duran is considered one of the greatest lightweights ever, but now he faces another battle. The 72-year-old had another health setback during the pandemic, getting hospitalized after testing positive for COVID. Now, his family has given an update on the boxer’s current condition. 

“We are waiting for results so that we can provide more information on his health. We thank our relatives, friends and all of his supporters who are praying for him,” family statement

Several names from the boxing world have responded to the news, sending Duran some warm words.

“The World Boxing Association sends its best wishes to the legend Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran, who is going through a complicated health condition, as reported by his entourage through the Panamanian’s social networks. Duran is one of the greatest living legends of boxing, and a great WBA champion who has been an ally in dozens of activities of the pioneer organization, always ready to be part of the events organized by the oldest body in the world,” WBA
